ACE COMBAT™ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN - May 22, 2019
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown features a veteran fighter pilot whose full name is Mihaly Dumitru Margareta Corneliu Leopold Blanca Karol Aeon Ignatius Raphael Maria Niketas A. Shilage. That’s fabulous. It s also got plenty of smashing dogfight action. But you know what it doesn t have? Support for most flight sticks. That s disappointing. However, there are now at least a few more twisty toys functional with the game, the developers have said in a Steam update. The bad news: only joysticks made by Thrustmaster have been added. They are the hardware folks who make admittedly good flight sticks and HOTAS, and who cause untold spluttering as its customers try to explain to their significant others why there is a transaction for something called the Thrustmaster hot ass on the bank statement this month. Well, Gareth? WELL?

ACE COMBAT™ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN - February 5, 2019
Ace Combat 7, the unflappable JRPG disguised as a jet fighter game, had some dissatisfied pilots when it came out on PC last week. The trigger-happy fly em up released without support for most joysticks or HOTAS controllers, which irritated folks. And other technical foibles also inevitably annoyed people. Well, there’s still no joy for the stick users. But there are some other small fixes, unofficial ones, courtesy of those rapscallions in modder squadron. One of these increases the draw distance to reduce pop-in, and the other adds support for those ultrawide monitors you never stop going on about.
ACE COMBAT™ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN - January 20, 2019
I'm absolutely terrified of flying in real life. Even just stepping onto a passenger plane is an ordeal for me so the thought of piloting a jet-propelled fighter plane in real life? Well lets just say I'd have to be wearing the brown flight suit that day...
ACE COMBAT™ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN - January 19, 2019
Ace Combat 7 is a superb sequel to a classic franchise that succeeds because it embraces new technology, but respects its past - and doesn't try to evolve the series into something it was never meant to be. There are all-new visuals, missions and game modes, but its connection to the past remains fundamental to its success. It's a proper sequel to the brilliant Ace Combat 5 (a decent port of which is bundled with PS4 pre-orders - and it runs at 4K60 on Pro), with gameplay evolved from AC4 and AC5. However, the fundamental technology has changed: similar to the Tekken and Soulcalibur titles, a proprietary game engine has been ditched for Unreal Engine 4, but thankfully the move pays off handsomely for the most part, with larger environments, lots of destruction and more on-screen entities.
